Gloucester County Girls League was formed in 2000. The aim was to give local girls an opportunity to participate in football in both a competitive and no-competitive format.

Over the last 3 seasons the league has gone from strength to strength. We now have in the region of 520 girls playing grass-roots football with their friends. We now have teams from Hereford and outside of Gloucestershire playing within the league.

The league is very friendly and all Clubs are encouraged to have 'a say', we are not here to dictate to Clubs.

Over the time the league has been in existence we have gone from running 3 age groups to now running  age groups , U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 , U18 and we comply and embrace the Youth Development Review.

The league was awarded the Bronze Respect League Award which as a league we are very proud of and this showcases that the girls participate in a safe and happy environment.

In July 2015 the league were awarded the Gloucestershire FA and the South West Region Charter Standard League of the Year for season 2014/15. This is a fantastic award in recognition of the work of the league in promoting girls football in Gloucestershire.
